Greece bans social media for under-15s from January 2027

Greece’s parliament has approved a ban on social media use by children under 15, effective January 1, 2027. Platforms must introduce age checks that protect users’ privacy; Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said they have roughly two and a half months to develop them.

Bottom line — From January 2027, platforms must keep under-15s off social media in Greece.
