1Password lets AI agents sign in without seeing users’ passwords
1Password has launched 1Password for Agents, a platform that lets supported AI agents sign in to online accounts without receiving the underlying credentials. When an agent requests a login, the user can approve or deny it on their own device; if approved, 1Password fills in the details directly on the sign-in page. The service is included with Individual and Family plans on 1password.com, though availability varies by agent.
Bottom line — Muse and Grok Bot are rolling out first; 1Password says Claude Duet, ChatGPT Work and Dots, and Townie are coming soon.

-
At launch, supported agents include Meta’s Muse, OpenAI’s ChatGPT Work and Dots, Anthropic’s Claude Duet, Grok Bot and Townie.
-
Each agent uses a unique digital key to identify itself to 1Password; users see which login it requests and why.
-
The integrations are optional, and approval does not give an agent access to the rest of a user’s vault.
-
1Password says the feature is not currently available for accounts hosted on 1password.eu or 1password.ca.
-
The company named Perplexity, Browserbase, Browser Use, Ramp and others as working on integrations, without giving launch dates.
-
1Password cautions that an agent may still view information or take actions within an account after signing in; what it does depends on the agent and website.
