Pentagon sends USS Theodore Roosevelt and Marines towards the Middle East
The Pentagon is deploying the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the Middle East, two US officials told Fox News. The group is expected to arrive by the end of November; Fox News reported that the deployment could give Donald Trump more military options if he decides to intensify strikes on Iran after the 3 November midterm elections.
Bottom line — The Roosevelt may join two US carriers already in the region or relieve the USS George Washington.
