Claude Code helps smart TV owners switch off ads and replace their home screens
Smart TV owners are using Anthropic’s Claude Code to disable advertising and tracking apps and build simpler home screens. Developer Gathin T. said the agent switched off 25 Xiaomi packages on his parents’ TV; his open-source cleanyourtv project disables apps rather than deleting them, making changes reversible. Decrypt and Blockonomi report that the project lists tested setups for 107 models across 37 brands.
Bottom line — Cleanyourtv has 10,700 GitHub stars, but its network debugging is unencrypted and users have reported bricking TVs.
