Xbox reportedly targets a 2027 handheld and a 2028 console projected at up to €1,550
Fortune reports that Xbox CEO Asha Sharma is aiming to release a next-generation handheld by the 2027 holiday season, followed by the Project Helix console in 2028. The handheld’s operating system has been a point of dispute between Xbox and Windows teams; Xbox is now largely directing the software, according to the report. Fortune says the console is internally projected to cost consumers €1,030–€1,550 (US$1,200–US$1,800) without a Microsoft subsidy.
Bottom line — Fortune’s reported schedule puts the handheld in 2027 and Project Helix in 2028; Microsoft has not confirmed either launch window or the console’s price.
