AMD to bring lightweight FSR 4 upscaling to handheld and laptop chips by year-end
AMD's Jack Huynh told Korean media that a special lightweight version of FSR 4, its upscaling technology competing with Nvidia's DLSS, will reach integrated graphics by the end of this year. Current FSR 4 is limited to discrete Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 GPUs, and most handhelds run on AMD APUs, so the change would extend the feature to a large share of portable gaming devices.
Bottom line — Handheld and gaming laptop owners may get FSR 4 gains by year-end, though performance versus the modded version is unclear.
