Apple marks the iPod’s 25th anniversary with a playable browser version
Apple has hidden an interactive recreation of the first-generation iPod on error pages across the Apple Music website, 25 years after Steve Jobs unveiled the player on 23 October 2001. The browser version includes a library of songs with short previews and a hidden Brick game; Apple has not said how long the tribute will remain available.
Bottom line — The tribute is virtual: Apple discontinued the iPod line in 2022 and has announced no new hardware.
