Türkiye urges Russia and Ukraine to reach a peace deal, warning of wider economic damage
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan urged Russia and Ukraine to agree a peace deal, saying their nearly five-year war is no longer sustainable and could spread further. Speaking at the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Atlanta, he said the conflict’s costs are especially difficult for European countries and argued that a lasting settlement would also require a renewed relationship between Russia and Europe, according to Anadolu.
Bottom line — Fidan says a Russia-Ukraine deal would have consequences for Europe as well as the two countries at war.
