Apple’s entry-level iPad is expected to gain Apple Intelligence in 2027
Apple is expected to launch a new entry-level iPad in the first half of 2027, alongside refreshed iPad Air and iPad Pro models, according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, as reported by MacRumors. Macworld says the base iPad may get an A18 or A19 chip, enabling Apple Intelligence support, but reports differ on which processor Apple will use.
Bottom line — The current entry-level iPad’s A16 chip does not support Apple Intelligence; the next model may add that capability.
