HBO Max drops surprise 30-minute Welcome to Derry prequel for Halloween
HBO Max released “A Story of Derry”, a surprise special set hundreds of years before Pennywise’s arrival. Its official synopsis follows three youngsters into the Western Wood, where they encounter an ancient spirit; the episode also features the first on-screen appearance of Maturin, the cosmic turtle, according to Slashfilm.
Bottom line — A second season is confirmed, with the Bradley Gang massacre in 1935 at its centre.
