AMD revived the Ryzen 7 5800X3D as Lisa Su’s farewell to AM4
AMD product chief Travis Kirsch told Japan’s My Navi Tech+ that Lisa Su proposed bringing back the Ryzen 7 5800X3D as a final upgrade for AM4 owners. He said the plan predated the DDR5 price crunch; restarting production took time because the original chip was no longer being made.
Bottom line — The 5800X3D returned on 25 June for €322 ($349), but AMD has not called it a formal end to AM4.
