European gas prices rose 20.4% in September, World Bank data show
The average European natural gas price reached $25.42 per million British thermal units (€23.70) in September, up 20.4% from August, according to the World Bank’s monthly commodity report cited by APA. The quarterly average was 90.7% higher than a year earlier, while US gas prices averaged $2.95 per million British thermal units (€2.75) in September.
Bottom line — Europe’s third-quarter gas average was $21.53 per million British thermal units (€20.08), 90.7% above the same period last year.
