DC’s Clayface opens with €22 million, below projections but ahead of A24’s rival
DC Studios’ body-horror film Clayface opened with $24 million (€22 million), slightly below forecasts of $25 million to $30 million (€23 million to €28 million), according to IndieWire. It beat A24’s You Can See Everything, which took $19.5 million (€18 million) in its second weekend; Clayface cost $44 million (€41 million) to make.
Bottom line — Clayface’s €41 million budget makes its modest opening less risky than Supergirl’s estimated €74 million to €111 million loss.
