Amgen’s Imdelltra–Imfinzi combination cut lung cancer death risk by 58%

In a 563-patient trial of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer, Amgen’s Imdelltra combined with AstraZeneca’s Imfinzi reduced the risk of death by 58% compared with Imfinzi alone, according to results presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology meeting in Madrid. Median survival was 21.1 months with the combination and 12.7 months with Imfinzi alone; serious side effects were also more frequent with the combination.

Bottom line — Amgen reported that 20.9% of combination patients had serious side effects, versus 10.8% on Imfinzi alone.
