Brent stays near €99 a barrel as tanker attacks mount in the Strait of Hormuz
Brent crude traded at $114.42 (€105.80) a barrel on Monday, down from above $116 (€107.26) last week but nearly double its level at the end of 2025, according to Oilprice.com. UK Maritime Trade Operations and the International Maritime Organization data cited by Oilprice.com recorded at least 28 vessel attacks in the Strait of Hormuz this month, including damage to at least 11 supertankers; Houthi strikes on Saudi infrastructure and Iranian attacks on tankers are also cited as factors keeping prices elevated.
Bottom line — At least 11 damaged supertankers add to supply concerns as Brent remains above €100 a barrel.
