Bose buys Skullcandy to reach audio customers beyond its own brand
Bose has acquired Skullcandy from a fund managed by Mill Road Capital Management, building on a multi-year partnership that put Sound by Bose technology in Skullcandy headphones and earbuds. Skullcandy will remain a separate brand based in Park City, Utah; Bose says it plans to invest in its technology, resources and global distribution.
Bottom line — Bose gains a distinct brand and audience; the financial terms remain confidential.
