Hackers tamper with French blood-bank fridges at three sites
A cyberattack on a refrigeration service provider altered temperature and defrosting controls at three French Blood Establishment (EFS) storage sites holding plasma and blood samples. EFS said alarms prompted staff to secure or move the products before they were compromised; no blood products were lost, no health impact was identified and distribution continued uninterrupted.
Bottom line — France’s Health Ministry and cybersecurity agency are investigating how the attackers accessed the systems.
